Oto. Yeah, her outfit is pretty bad, but it happened. That’s all I care about. I lied, her outfit is reeeeally stupid.
Pon. Maybe this is beside the point, but whoever wrote this show isn’t great at international politics. Look, historically, when the US aligns itself with a vile and destructive organization, typically it isn’t terrorists. It’s an oppressive government or a brutal rebellion whose goal is to become an oppressive government. “No negotiating with terrorists” is our longstanding PR move meant to distract from stuff like Iran not liking us now because we helped overthrow their elected government in the 50s.
Oto. To be fair, Dr. Ver and friends’ new goal appears to be, stop a world where the strong control the weak by becoming the strong that control the weak.
Pon. Nah. Ver’s plan is clearly to be a god or something. He just takes advantage of these kids’ kid-like inability to make up their minds.
Oto. Why would anyone listen to this fucking guy?
Pon. Aren’t you sort of compelled by his faces?
Oto. There is something about him that makes him kinda hot in this episode. He’s got some yaoi-ass art now.
Pon. I was actually thinking his faces weren’t as good in this one.
Oto. They weren’t as crazy. That’s why he was kinda hot. He was being kinda smooth.
Pon. I don’t want subtle! His name is John Wayne Vercingetorix, for chrissakes.
Oto. Has anyone in the show talked about how red-haired commander guy is totally Tsubasa’s uncle?
Pon. Is he? How’d you figure that out?
Oto. I was looking him up on MyAnimeList. Yup, totally her uncle. Also, he’s way into hero shows. Go figure. I was waiting for the show to say something, but we’re almost done with season 2 now, so fuck it.
Pon. I guess that makes sense. She’s just sick of him at this point, and Hibiki is the niece he always wanted. But, okay, that’s not even technobabble, that’s just characterization stuff that should’ve been in the show by now and not on a website somewhere. Or stuck in the third season somewhere, if that’s the case. There’s no excuse for that one. I love that guy. There needed to be more of that guy in general. Or did they say that somewhere and we just talked over it?
